Pyramid Lake Vortex

Pyramid Lake, situated within the Paiute Indian Reservation in northwestern Nevada. The lake is the largest remaining remnant of the prehistoric Lake Lahontan, which covered much of the Great Basin during the last ice age. The Pyramid Lake vortex is anchored by the Pyramid and Anaho Island, as well as the Stone Mother formation. The Pyramid itself is a striking tufa mound that rises from the water. Nearby, the Stone Mother formation—a tufa rock resembling a seated woman with a basket—is viewed as the heart of the vortex. This site is associated with the Paiute creation story and is thought to radiate a frequency of profound maternal strength.

The lore of the Pyramid Lake vortex is defined by persistent reports of the Water Babies—the sometimes malevolent spirits said to reside beneath the surface. According to local tradition, these entities are the spirits of children who were cast into the lake, and their cries are often heard by those camping along the shore.

Note: There is currently no scientific method to prove that vortexes exist. Just because a location is on the vortex map, does not prove there is a vortex there. What it means, is that someone suggested the location and provided evidence or a personal account, and/or we found corroborating evidence from other sources. We do this so other visitors to the site can send us their opinion on the validity of the vortex claim, to build a consensus.

Have you visited this location? If so, let us know if you think this place is a vortex or not. We will post your comments here.
