El Santuario de Chimayo Vortex

El Santuario de Chimayo, nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northern New Mexico, is a profound and gentle healing location known as the Lourdes of America. The site is positioned over a natural pocket of unique, reddish-orange soil that is continuously replenished by the surrounding arid landscape.

The Chimayo energy is centered on El Pocito, a small hole in the floor of a side chapel that contains the sacred earth known as Tierra Bendita. For centuries, pilgrims have traveled to this site to touch and consume the soil, leaving behind thousands of discarded crutches, braces, and photographs as physical evidence of the site’s transformative power.

The lore of the Chimayo includes the miraculous discovery of the Crucifix of Our Lord of Esquipulas in the early 19th century. According to tradition, a local friar saw a mysterious light shining from the hillside and unearthed the crucifix from the very spot where El Pocito now resides. The energy of the sanctuary is notably different from the expansive, cosmic vibrations of nearby Taos; it is an intimate, inward-turning field that emphasizes the humility of the earth and the persistence of faith.

Note: There is currently no scientific method to prove that vortexes exist. Just because a location is on the vortex map, does not prove there is a vortex there. What it means, is that someone suggested the location and provided evidence or a personal account, and/or we found corroborating evidence from other sources. We do this so other visitors to the site can send us their opinion on the validity of the vortex claim, to build a consensus.

Have you visited this location? If so, let us know if you think this place is a vortex or not. We will post your comments here.
