The Eastern State Penitentiary, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a monumental and imposing vortex of structural isolation, where the intended silence and solitude of the 19th-century penitentiary system have created a permanent energetic seal on the landscape.
The prison is defined by its revolutionary wagon-wheel layout, featuring long, vaulted corridors that radiate from a central observation point. This geometry was specifically engineered to induce a state of constant spiritual reflection, but practitioners describe the resulting vibration as being exceptionally pressurized, cold, and fragmented. The energy is most concentrated in Cellblock 12 and the subterranean Punishment Cell known as the Hole, where the layers of prolonged psychological distress have been absorbed into the thick masonry walls.
Reports from the Eastern State energetic field include the presence of numerous spectral anomalies, most notably the reports of cackling laughter in Cellblock 12 and the apparition of a locksmith who encountered a sudden, overwhelming force in the same area. It is noted for sudden sensory distortions, including the sensation of being touched or the sound of distant, rhythmic footsteps.

Note: There is currently no scientific method to prove that vortexes exist. Just because a location is on the vortex map, does not prove there is a vortex there. What it means, is that someone suggested the location and provided evidence or a personal account, and/or we found corroborating evidence from other sources. We do this so other visitors to the site can send us their opinion on the validity of the vortex claim, to build a consensus.
Have you visited this location? If so, let us know if you think this place is a vortex or not. We will post your comments here.
