Haunted Myrtles Plantation

The Myrtles Plantation, located in St. Francisville, Louisiana, is known as one of the most energetically active and haunted vortices in the American South. The plantation sits on the high bluffs of the Mississippi River, with French-inspired architecture and surrounding live oak groves. The mansion’s wide veranda and the famous haunted mirror located in the central hallway are paranormal hot spots. According to local lore, the mirror contains the trapped spirits of Sara Woodruff and her children, who were allegedly poisoned by an enslaved woman named Chloe. The mirror has become a potent scrying tool. Visitors and staff frequently report seeing spectral handprints and shadowy figures within the glass that cannot be wiped away.

Note: There is currently no scientific method to prove that vortexes exist. Just because a location is on the vortex map, does not prove there is a vortex there. What it means, is that someone suggested the location and provided evidence or a personal account, and/or we found corroborating evidence from other sources. We do this so other visitors to the site can send us their opinion on the validity of the vortex claim, to build a consensus.

Have you visited this location? If so, let us know if you think this place is a vortex or not. We will post your comments here.
