Lily Dale, located on the eastern shore of Cassadaga Lake in western New York, is a world-renowned spiritualist vortex. The Leolyn Woods, a ten-acre tract of registered old-growth forest, lies Inspiration Stump, a massive, railed-off tree remnant that is widely considered the holiest site in the assembly. Since 1898, this location has served as an open-air platform for public mediumship. Nearby, the Forest Temple and the Healing Temple provide dedicated spaces for spiritual renewal.
Significant features of the Lily Dale energetic field include its long history as a haven for progressive freethinkers and social reformers. During the 19th century, the vortex attracted influential figures such as Susan B. Anthony and various suffragettes who saw spiritualism as a pathway to equality. Many report that the energy is most potent at the site of the Fox Cottage memorial.
Each year approximately 22,000 visitors come for classes, workshops, public church services and mediumship demonstrations, lectures, and private appointments with mediums. In recent years, guest lecturers have included Lisa Williams, Dee Wallace, members of “Ghost Hunters,” Tibetan monks, James Van Praagh, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and Deepak Chopra.
