Boone, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern North Carolina, is a town is built upon the Blue Ridge Thrust Sheet, featuring some of the oldest rock outcroppings in the world, including billion-year-old metamorphic gneiss and quartz-rich granites. The Boone vortex is between the Grandfather Mountain to the south and Howard Knob to the north. The vibration in Boone is noted for its sharpening effect on the mind and its ability to trigger a sense of clarity.
The lore of the Boone vortex is also defined by its unique atmospheric conditions, including the frequent mountain mists and the phenomenon of the brown mountain lights visible to the southeast. Near Boone is Mystery Hill, a tourist location that claims to have gravitational anomalies.

Note: There is currently no scientific method to prove that vortexes exist. Just because a location is on the vortex map, does not prove there is a vortex there. What it means, is that someone suggested the location and provided evidence or a personal account, and/or we found corroborating evidence from other sources. We do this so other visitors to the site can send us their opinion on the validity of the vortex claim, to build a consensus.
Have you visited this location? If so, let us know if you think this place is a vortex or not. We will post your comments here.
