Haunted Shanghai Tunnels

The Shanghai Tunnels, a subterranean network of passages located beneath the Old Town and Chinatown districts of Portland, Oregon, have powerful residual energy and historical trauma. The tunnel features narrow brick passages and wooden trapdoors, known as deadfalls, that once connected the city’s saloons and hotels directly to the river. These paths were famously used for the practice of shanghaiing, where individuals were kidnapped and sold into forced maritime labor. Mediums describe the vibration within these cold, cramped spaces as being exceptionally heavy and claustrophobic. The energy is concentrated in specific areas like the Nina Room and the holding cells, where the intense suffering and fear of the victims have been absorbed into the porous brickwork.

Significant features of the Shanghai Tunnels energetic field include the presence of several distinct entities, most notably a lady in white named Nina and various spectral sailors. Many visitors report a sense of being pursued or watched from the shadows.

What it means, is that someone suggested the location and provided evidence or a personal account, and/or we found corroborating evidence from other sources. We do this so other visitors to the site can send us their opinion on the validity of the vortex claim, to build a consensus.
